Prakash Padukone was on born 10 June 1955 in Bangalore was ranked World No. 1 in 1980.
Badminton in India has been synonymous with the Father of Badminton - Prakash Padukone before the other champions like Pullela Gopichand, PV Sindhu etc.
He was the first Indian to win the men's singles title at the All England Championship in 1980.
A prolific player Prakash Padukone was known as the 'Gentle Tiger' on the court.
He bagged over 20 International titles before he retired in 1989.
