PM Modi inspected the progress of the new parliament building works.
Bimal Patel, the architect in charge of the design of the new complex will have a triangular shape.
The building is designed to have a lifespan of more than 150 years.
It will incorporate architectural styles from different parts of India
5,000 pieces of art, paintings, decorative art, wall panels, stone sculptures and metal objects will be showcased
The new complex is a 64,500 square metre structure, and part of the ₹20,000 crore Central Vista project.
The cost of the project is estimated at ₹971 crore.
The new complex will have 888 seats in the Lok Sabha chamber and 384 seats in the Rajya Sabha chamber.
